The Addy Grace Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization focused on raising awareness of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) a disease in which 1 in 40 Americans are genetic carriers. Our mission is to help families, build relationships, and be a source of encouragement to families affected by SMA. Now, we are embarking on a project to benefit all families in the Roanoke Valley, a true community playground where all children can create and experience the joy only a playground can provide.
A Playground For All
What is it?
There is one thing that unites all children… the wonder of play. Some of our best memories and friendships are formed on a playground, but for those with limited mobility it is simply not accessible. There is a gap from Radford to Harrisonburg without an All-Abilities playground and the Roanoke Valley shouldn’t be without this valuable asset.

Where will it be?
This All-Abilities Playground will be built at the Daleville Town Center next to the soon-to-be built YMCA. They have generously provided the land on which it will be built, and we are progressing together with their vision and leadership.
How Can I Contribute?
Make a Contribution
Individuals and businesses can make a tax deductible donation to the Addy Grace Foundation. Your contribution can be toward the overall goal or you may wish to “adopt” a special piece of the playground to permanently attach your name or business to the playground. What Is An All Abilities Playground?
Children with disabilities often cannot play on a standard playground and therefore cannot take advantage of the amazing benefits that play provides.
An all-abilities playground is a space that provides inclusive play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities. These types of playgrounds are designed to promote the healthy development of all children’s physical, social, cognitive, and sensory abilities.
This all-abilities playground in Daleville will give all children in the Roanoke, Virginia area the chance to play, grow, and learn side-by-side.
